At Family Care Network, we practice family medicine. This means that it is our goal to know you as a person, in the context of your life and family, and to build a relationship over time that helps us to provide excellent and personal medical care. The heart of this relationship is the doctor-patient relationship that forms between you and your physician. In addition, our other health care professionals support that relationship, and we have organized into a network of local offices in order to provide state of the art technology and medical support systems to improve quality and service.
Our group includes 50 family physicians and 13 nurse practitioners or physician assistants in 12 locations throughout Bellingham, Birch Bay, Everson, Ferndale, Lynden, and Sumas, Washington. Here are some of the health care services we offer, as part of our family practice.
Personal health appraisals are performed in conjunction with well child care, school physicals and adult examinations for men and women.
Pulmonary function studies, exercise treadmill testing,flexibility assessment and diet evaluation are frequent tests performed in our offices.
We evaluate and treat a wide range of common medical problems from the pediatric through the geriatric age groups. Additional diagnostic studies and specialty consultation are arranged as needed.
Trauma and sports related injuries can be evaluated and treated in our office, with referral made as appropriate.
Comprehensive low risk obstetrical care is provided by most of our physicians with special consultation as needed. We consider helping a women and her family with childbirth to be a wonderful opportunity to establish a relationship that then continues with care for the children and parents. We encourage and help with childbirth education. All of our physicians provide in hospital and outpatient newborn care, and a nurse visit at home is available during the early newborn period.
We provide a full range of birth control options to aid our patients in taking responsible action to prevent unplanned pregnancy, including barrier methods, oral contraceptives, Depo Provera, Norplant, mini-incision vasectomy and tubal ligation.
The following services are available in the comfort and familiar surroundings of our office: flexible sigmoidoscopy, colposcopy, cryotherapy, EKG, respiratory treatments, application of casts and splints, removal of warts, moles, cysts, ingrown nails and emergency wound repair. Our doctors will also assist in surgery at St. Joseph Hospital when needed.
Our doctors do make house calls when special circumstances are present that make this a needed service. Examination and treatment can generally be done more thoroughly with the added personnel and facilities available in our office.
