Dr Hopper joined Family Care Network (FCN) and Bunks Medical Center in1999, which office later became Bellingham Bay Family Medicine in 2011.
Prior to moving here he practiced in St Louis, MO for ten years. Jim was born in Seattle, went to Haverford College in Philadelphia for his undergraduate degree, and then returned to Seattle for medical school. Dr. Hopper graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1984. He completed his Family Medicine Residency in Charleston, South Carolina in 1987. He married Maggie Kinsella while in Charleston and they traveled around the world for nine months before settling in her home town of St. Louis.
The medical staff of Peace Health St. Joseph Medical Center voted him to their leadership group in 2006, and he served a 2 year tem (2008-2010) as Chief of the Medical Staff. Quality of care and patient safety processes are two of Dr. Hoppers main professional interests.
His three children are his primary hobby. He also enjoys running, biking and volleyball.
