Jason T. Short, MD

I was born in Bellingham but grew up in Carnation, Wash. I earned a bachelor of science degree from Western Washington University and went on to Milwaukee, Wis. where I attended the Medical College of Wisconsin. I completed residency training at Family Medicine Spokane. I joined North Sound Family Medicine in October of 2003.

For the first eight years of my career, I practiced obstetrics. This allowed me to work with patients of all ages. I thoroughly enjoy this variety and the challenges it brings. The most rewarding aspect of family medicine is educating my patients about their health and partnering with them to make their lives better. I particularly enjoy working with new parents and young families. I also work in the hospital with our Family Care Network Inpatient Services Program to keep my skills sharp in acute hospital care.

I have been married since 1998, and my wife is the head volleyball coach at Whatcom Community College. We have three sons and one daughter. I enjoy many outdoor activities, but I especially enjoy fishing, hunting, golf and working outside on my property. My children are very involved with sports, so you may see me at a ball field or in a gym around the county.
