Sara M. Handschin, PA-C

I am a Pacific Northwest native, born and raised in Washington. I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in exercise science and completed my physician assistant training at A.T. Still University in Arizona. Throughout my career, I have provided clinical care and held leadership positions in a variety of practice areas, including primary care, orthopedics, sports medicine, adolescent medicine and gynecology.

I love being a physician assistant because of the partnerships I am able to build with patients. I enjoy helping patients feel better on the same day they are seen and also value working together to build the foundation for improved long-term health. I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults. Prior to joining FCN, I spent 10 years at Seattle Children’s Hospital Division of Adolescent Medicine helping teens and their families navigate the transition to adulthood.

Before moving to Bellingham, my husband and I spent a year traveling with our canine sidekick.  We are now excited to call this community home. In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, cycling and almost anything outdoors.
