I grew up in Bellingham and graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma. I attended the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed my family medicine specialty training in Columbus, Ohio. My service as a family physician brought me to Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, then my family and I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah for my wife’s training as pediatric cancer specialist. We’ve lived near the Twin Cities, Minnesota for the last 12 years, but now it is time to return to Bellingham!
My 23 years as a family physician follows in the footsteps of my father and many close friends. Helping my patients maintain good health and prevent illness is my first priority, but I recognize health isn’t a constant. We need to use available tools – such as good communication, technology, and traditional and alternative medical treatments – to return patients to optimal health in a timely and safe manner.
My wife and I are excited to live, work and play in Bellingham. Our children are off to college, but we will be eager to get them home to Bellingham as often as possible. The outdoor adventures of hiking, mountain biking, sailing and more are where you’ll likely find me if I’m not at the office.
