Dr. Anneliese Floyd joined North Sound Family Medicine in January of 2009.  She was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest.  Dr, Floyd obtained her undergraduate degree from Western Washington University, then worked in a hospital laboratory in Connecticut, where she decided to pursue Family Medicine.  Returning home, she received her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.  Dr. Floyd completed her Family Medicine residency at Swedish Family Medicine in Seattle, where she was trained in the full range of medicine, including obstetrics and pediatrics, with an emphasis on preventive care.  She is board certified in Family Medicine.

Dr. Floyd believes that Family Medicine best prepares physicians to care for patients from the moment of a beautiful birth, through life's challenges and rewards, to a peaceful end.  She has particular interests in women's and children's health, including obstetrics.

Dr. Floyd and her husband, Jared, fell in love with the Bellingham area when they attended Western Washington University, and had hoped to return to the area to raise their family.  They have two wonderful young daughters and look forward to getting a family dog this spring!  Dr. Floyd loves to garden (what she refers to as "dirt therapy"), and enjoys singing and dancing, especially with her children!  She will continue to strive toward balancing her passion for medicine with the love of spending time with her family.
