Alex Wertheimer, DO

I was raised in nearby Everett. I migrated south for undergrad where I studied biology and played football at Occidental College in Los Angeles. I attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Lebanon, Ore., then I completed a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Buffalo in New York. I made my way back west for a fellowship in sports medicine at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles.

I am thrilled to be a part of Family Care Network as a sports medicine physician. I am also a team physician for Western Washington University Athletics (NCAA Division II).

As a former collegiate athlete and now as an avid recreational athlete, I understand the importance of staying active through all phases of life regardless of age or activity level. It is my goal to get my patients back to what they love as fast and as painlessly as possible. I am trained to manage bone, joint and muscle problems with minimally invasive, non-operative treatments. In particular, I use ultrasound as part of my practice for diagnosis and to facilitate therapeutic procedures.

My wife and I are excited to settle back in the beautiful PNW for good. In our free time we enjoy cooking, hiking, biking, surfing, skiing and getting out on the water together.
