Alina Ostapchuk, DNP, ARNP
I was born prematurely in a small town in Ukraine. My mother became very ill and did not have access to proper healthcare, and she died three days after I was born. Because of this background, my interest and passion for medicine began in early childhood. I immigrated to America as a child to Ferndale, Wash., and my passion for medicine continued to grow. I received both my undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Washington.
I am honored to work with patients, sharing in both the joys and difficult moments of their lives. I feel that my role blends what I love most about nursing (advocacy for people, patient teaching, patient-centeredness) and medicine (making the diagnosis, finding the root-cause of a problem, and providing evidence-based treatment). I love being a family nurse practitioner because I get to care for people of all ages and create long lasting relationships with families. I particularly enjoy caring for children, treating migraines, and decreasing the amount of medications people need to take!
I have six children and a very supportive husband. Together we enjoy spending time outdoors, growing our own food in our greenhouse and garden, and being active in church.
