April K. Wakefield Pagels, MD

I was born and raised in Kansas. I did my undergraduate, graduate, and medical school at University of Kansas. Go Jayhawks! My parents moved to Washington state after I was married, so I chose to interview with University of Washington residency programs. I completed my family medicine residency at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. I am board certified in family medicine with obstetrics.

I enjoy family medicine because of the diversity of ages and medical diagnoses that I see – my schedule is different every day. My goal is to provide preventive care, promote healthy lifestyles, and treat acute and chronic illnesses. I want my patients to have an opportunity to enjoy each stage of life to the fullest. I look forward to having multiple generations of family members in my practice.

I also speak conversational Spanish.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family doing all sorts of activities. The Northwest gives us beautiful scenery and mild temperatures so it is easy for us to stay active outdoors almost year round. When the short, dark, rainy days come along, we enjoy our time inside reading by the fireplace.
