Ashley Harmon, ARNP

I grew up in central South Dakota. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at South Dakota State University and began my career as a registered nurse in central South Dakota. During my years as an RN I gained excellent experience in various areas of patient care such as medical surgical, intensive care, emergency department, labor and delivery/newborn nursery and internal medicine. I then earned my Master of Science and completed my family nurse practitioner training at the University of North Dakota. I am board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

I am passionate about providing quality medical care across the entire lifespan. I love rural medicine and have special training in rheumatology. I have worked closely with rheumatologists and have taken extra course certifications to gain experience with a multitude of autoimmune diseases and arthritis. I love spending time with my patients and listening to their social history in addition to medical history so that I can address genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health. I value shared decision making with my patients and emphasize the importance of preventive medicine, health and wellness.

My husband, a former Pacific Northwest resident, introduced me to the area before we were married and I quickly fell in love with all it has to offer. After spending many years in the Midwest, we were eager for the opportunity to raise our family in beautiful Whatcom County.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors with my husband, son, daughter and golden retriever. Many weekends are spent out on the boat or traveling to watch our son play sports.
