Bilal Ittiq, MD

I am a native of Brooklyn, New York which is where my family and I lived until I was 10, and also where I developed my affinity for NY-style pizza. Oklahoma was my family’s next stop where I did all of my schooling, including medical school at the University of Oklahoma. Although the food scene there was not as bustling, I did develop an interest in college football during my time at OU (Boomer Sooner!). That is also where I met my wife, who was supportive enough to entertain a move out west where I did my residency and fellowship with Kaiser Permanente. We have since bought into the “West coast, best coast” mentality and anticipate spending many more years here.

My professional experience has led me to the realization that in addition to feeling better, we all really just want to understand what is going on with our bodies. My goal is to help you make sense of your symptoms and guide you through the options you have to feel better. Sometimes that entails a course of conservative treatment and other times more invasive steps or procedures are necessary. Whatever the case may be, I want to make sure you understand why we are taking the recommended course. My practice philosophy is to begin with less invasive treatments and work our way to more invasive treatments if necessary.

At home, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my wife and our dog. We enjoy taking long walks, hiking, watching The Great British Baking Show, trying new recipes, and exploring the restaurant scene and different cuisines. We are excited to return to Washington and also to be closer to family!
