Debbie M. Roessler, MD

I was born in Seattle, Washington and then moved with my family to upstate New York. I graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. From there I moved to Portland, Oregon where I worked with homeless youth. While there I attended medical school at Oregon Health and Science University. I completed my family medicine residency training and was chief resident at the University of Rochester in New York. There, I had the opportunity to explore connections between emotional and physical well-being and the influence of family dynamics on health. I also worked with underserved populations.

I believe the challenge of medicine is keeping up to date on the ever-changing information of evidence-based medicine and applying this to each individual’s healthcare. I am passionate about full-spectrum medicine and enjoy caring for the whole family, from newborns through adulthood. I believe good healthcare is a partnership between patient and doctor, with each participating in the decision making process. I believe that families and community help shape health.

I joined Family Care Network in 2012 and practiced at Squalicum Family Medicine in Bellingham until assuming the role of Chief Medical Officer in 2024. I look forward to meeting you and your families and hearing your stories.

I am a proud mother of four beautiful boys. I spend my free time playing with my family, biking, and enjoying the outdoors.
