Emily Holden, DNP, ARNP
I obtained my nursing degree at Gonzaga University, and later completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at the University of Washington in Seattle. After spending most of my early nursing career in a cardiac surgery acute care unit, I chose to pursue a role as a primary care nurse practitioner, where I now have the rewarding privilege of developing long-term relationships with patients and their families.
I have an adult-centered practice and am board-certified in adult-geriatric medicine. The advantage of the adult-geriatric specialty is the narrower age focus, which affords me the opportunity to delve more deeply into the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases that present in this population. I am especially passionate about helping people live well with chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and arthritis. I enjoy working with every member of the patient’s care team, including their family, community, and other medical professionals.
A cornerstone of my practice philosophy is the belief that each person has unique intrinsic worth, experiences, and circumstances that make them deserving of individualized care. I value shared decision making and find fulfillment in helping patients and families navigate difficult health care decisions. I also recognize that it is my responsibility to provide patients with the evidence-based tools and resources to achieve personal health goals. Whether it’s anxiety management, weight loss, or reducing prescription medications, I strive to equip my patients for success wherever they are.
As a lifetime Washington resident, I enjoy road cycling, hiking, and swimming. In my spare time, you can find me volunteering as a faith community nurse at my church, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and spending time with my husband and our wonderful family here in the Pacific Northwest.
