Heidi Vogel, LMFT

I have lived in nine states all over this beautiful country but feel lucky to call the Upper Left home. I graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and then moved to southern California where I earned a master’s degree in marital and family therapy. My educational background has provided a foundation for looking at issues through a systemic perspective, both on the individual and community level. I have worked in the behavioral health field for 19 years and wholeheartedly believe that mental health is a vital part of healthy functioning.

My passion is to destigmatize mental health issues and normalize the struggles that occur for all human beings. I am primarily oriented toward cognitive behavioral therapy but like to integrate motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, attachment theory and narrative therapy into my practice. My ultimate goal is to collaborate with clients on finding an achievable pathway toward healing and recovery. Therapy isn’t always easy and can be challenging at times, but doing the work is definitely worth it.

In my spare time I like to read, watch movies, go for walks, play soccer and spend time with family. I also spend a large amount of time trying to keep my plants alive while searching online for plant care tips.
