Magdalena Hecht, MD

I was born in the Czech Republic and raised in Northern California. I studied cell and molecular biology and environmental studies at Tulane University in Louisiana before attending medical school at Oregon Health and Science University. I completed my family medicine residency at the University of Michigan, where I developed a strong foundation in full-spectrum primary care, including caring for children and non-surgical obstetrics.

As a family medicine doctor, I feel privileged to get to know my patients — not just their health concerns but also their personal stories and strengths. I especially enjoy providing pregnancy care and caring for women and young families, emphasizing preventive care and providing guidance through life’s transitions. My practice is rooted in evidence-based medicine, with a focus on addressing the root causes of illness through nutrition, movement, and mental well-being. I believe in empowering patients through education and partnership so they can take an active role in their health.

Outside of the clinic, I love to cook and eat, hike, and cuddle with my dog, Willow. I am thrilled to be a part of the Bellingham community and look forward to building meaningful relationships here.
