Mark McGrath, MD

Born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I have the privilege of practicing medicine in the state I call home. After completing my medical education at the University of Washington School of Medicine, I pursued my residency at Skagit Family Medicine Residency in Mount Vernon. In 2024, my wife and I moved to Bellingham, where we look forward to laying down roots and becoming a part of this vibrant community.

I became a family medicine doctor because I am deeply passionate about providing patient-centered care, which goes beyond diagnosing and treating conditions. I work closely with my patients to guide them through decisions that impact their health and well-being by helping them become well-informed and confident in their healthcare choices. I strive to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment and ensure that every patient feels heard, respected, and empowered in their healthcare journey. This shared decision-making process ensures that their values, preferences, and goals are at the heart of every treatment plan.

I find great fulfillment in building long-term relationships with my patients, fostering trust and partnership along the way. I cherish the opportunity to care for individuals at every stage of life – from the excitement of caring for young children and their growing families to providing support and guidance to older adults as they navigate the complexities of aging, with a focus on improving quality of life and overall well-being. I also enjoy supporting healthy, active lifestyles and addressing sports-related injuries and concerns, men’s and women’s health, and delivering inclusive and supportive gender-affirming care. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to my practice!

When I’m not seeing patients, I enjoy exploring the great outdoors with my wife, whether we are hiking through the forest, running along our local trails, or rock climbing. I am also an avid sports fan and a dedicated supporter of our local teams.
