I am originally from Anacortes, Washington. As a child, my family moved to Wyoming, Great Britain and Texas with the Air Force. I earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry at Seattle Pacific University, then moved to Chicago for medical school at Rush University. My residency program was a community program associated with the University of Iowa in Davenport, Iowa .
I chose to pursue a career in family medicine because I value the relationships that can develop between a physician and a patient over the course of many years. I enjoy knowing my patients well and treat all ages from newborns, children and teens to young and mature adults. My goal is to work with each of my patients to help them understand their health and find practical solutions for treatment. I practice outpatient and hospital medicine and also previously worked as an emergency room physician in rural Iowa.
I spend my free time with my wife and children. I enjoy gardening, cooking, fishing and watching both the Mariners and Seahawks.
