FCN adds new Bellingham location in November

Nov 4, 2026 | News

On Monday, Nov. 16, Family Care Network will open a new location in Bellingham, called Ellis Street Family Medicine. This is the final step of the agreement between FCN and Optum to assume ownership of the primary care clinic located at 3130 Ellis St.

Key dates in the transition process include:

  • Sunday, Nov. 15: Family Care Network officially assumes ownership of the primary care clinic. Patients who need to reach an after-hours on call clinician should call the clinic’s local phone number: (360) 734-4404
  • Monday, Nov. 16: First day of seeing patients as Family Care Network – Ellis Street Family Medicine. The clinic will open at 1pm.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 17: Clinic returns to normal hours of Monday-Friday, 7am-5:30pm.

When the clinic transitions to Family Care Network, several changes will take place:

  • Patients will call (360) 734-4404 for all care questions, scheduling, reaching the after hours on-call clinician, etc. This is the same local number that has been used by the clinic for many years.
  • The insurance plans that are accepted at Ellis Street Family Medicine will change to align with Family Care Network. More information is provided on the FCN website: Insurance.
    • Patients on plans that are not accepted by FCN will need to carefully evaluate their options for ongoing care and make any necessary changes as soon as possible.
  • Patients who remain at this location will continue to see their regular clinician. Patients of clinicians who elected not to participate in the transition will be reassigned to other clinicians at Ellis Street Family Medicine.
  • Lab services and the walk-in clinic will no longer be available at this location. FCN offers these services in multiple other locations throughout Bellingham and Whatcom County. Learn more:
  • Ellis Street Family Medicine patients will need to create a new Family Care Network MyChart account.

FCN has partnered closely with Optum to support a smooth transition and continuity of care. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as we can and ensure patients continue to have access to the high-quality care they know and trust, however patients may see minor, temporary disruptions over the first few weeks as we work through the transition.
