Stephen A. Lewis, MD

I grew up on Mercer Island and received my undergraduate degree from Western Washington University. I attended St. Louis University School of Medicine for medical school and did my family practice residency at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

I’ve been practicing full spectrum family medicine in Ferndale since 1994 and it’s been a wonderful journey.  I enjoy family medicine because of the diversity and variety it brings — from newborn care to geriatrics — and providing care for the whole family, which is incredibly fulfilling.  I especially value the long-term relationships I have built with my patients over the years and I take pride in providing comprehensive care.

My wife and I have two daughters and one son.  My father and both grandfathers were physicians and my son is now in medical school so medicine truly “runs in the family”.

When I’m not working, I enjoy playing tennis and pickleball regularly, hiking, traveling, listening to music, and refinishing and painting furniture. I believe that work-life balance is essential to maintaining a healthy and happy lifestyle and I encourage my patients to prioritize their well-being.
