L. Sloane Winkes, MD

* Accepting new Spanish speaking patients
* Aceptando nuevos pacientes que hablan Español

I received my medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed my residency at the Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa, California. Before coming to NCFP, I practiced family medicine and obstetrics in Marysville, Washington and Petaluma and Ukiah, California. I have been at NCFP since 2006. What I love most about my job is the ability to practice medicine in such a supportive, caring atmosphere with amazing staff and delightful patients. I am fluent in Spanish and specialize in family medicine, including prenatal care, which gives me a unique niche on the NCFP team.

My professional interests include advocating for those impacted by domestic violence, caring for the underserved, and women’s health. I’ve had several articles published on the important issue of domestic violence. I am proud to serve on the board for Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services. I am also proud to have previously been voted Best Physician in Skagit County in the Skagit Publishing People’s Choice awards.

I am a transplant from the East Coast and absolutely love the Skagit Valley, where we have now lived for more than 20 years. I have two children who keep me busy and laughing. I enjoy being active and getting outside or exploring new places with my family. We love to travel and have spent extended periods of time in Mexico, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
