L. Sloane Winkes, MD

* Accepting new Spanish speaking patients
* Aceptando nuevos pacientes de habla hispana

I received my medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed my residency at the Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa, California. Before coming to NCFP, I practiced family medicine and obstetrics in Marysville, Washington and Petaluma and Ukiah, California. I have been at NCFP since 2006. What I love most about my job is the ability to practice medicine in such a supportive, caring atmosphere with amazing staff and delightful patients. I am fluent in Spanish and specialize in family medicine, which gives me a unique niche on the NCFP team.

My professional interests include domestic violence and caring for the underserved. I’ve had several articles published on the important issue of domestic violence. I am proud to serve as Chair of the Board for Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services. It was a great honor to be voted Best Physician in Skagit County in the Skagit Publishing People’s Choice awards in 2013.

I have two children who keep me constantly entertained and busy. I love being active and particularly enjoy Zumba, hiking, running, and strength training. I also enjoy curling up in a cozy chair with a good book. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I’ve lived in the Mount Vernon area for more than 10 years and love our beautiful valley.
