Island Family Physicians has a long history in the Anacortes community. We take pride in the personal, long-term relationships we develop with our patients. We became part of Bellingham-based Family Care Network in 2015, an integration that enhances the healthcare experience for our patients by providing state-of-the-art support for our physicians while ensuring that we can continue to provide local, independent care. The integration also helps us control costs through centralized administration and billing, use of an electronic medical records system, and other resources.
Two of our physicians provide prenatal and obstetrical care for expectant mothers: Rob Rieger, MD and Meg Sweeney, MD. When OB care is provided by a family physician, it is unique in many ways. Learn more here.
One of the benefits of being an IFP patient is that we see our patients at Island Hospital. While the nationwide trend is toward using hospitalists for in-hospital care, we believe the family part of family medicine means keeping in touch with our patients when they are hospitalized.
Island Family Physicians patients also have a lab draw station conveniently located within IFP. The lab is open 7:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday (closed 12:30-1:30pm for lunch).
