I am originally from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, where I grew up with a love of learning, language and snow. I completed my undergraduate degrees in biology and Spanish at Bethel University in St. Paul. I took a few years to work and job shadow in the medical community before attending medical school at the University of Minnesota. It was during these years that I became drawn to family medicine. After medical school, I completed my training at Self Regional Family Medicine Residency in Greenwood, South Carolina. I am a board-certified family medicine physician.
One of the best things about family medicine is the opportunity to care for individuals and families in all ages and stages of life. I also treasure the opportunity I have as a family doctor to become connected with the community. In addition to treating illness, I thoroughly enjoy helping my patients learn about their health status and how to prevent future illness. I have a particular interest in women's health care, obstetrics and pediatrics. I also enjoy travel medicine and stay up-to-date on diseases that are more common overseas.
On my days off, you will find me with my husband and my boys – cooking, drinking coffee, being outdoors and investing in our church.
